White Chocolate & Strawberry Mirror Cake

I was msn-ing with Huiling the other day, talking about birthday cakes. Had promised to bake her a Mango Cake for her Birthday in October like the one for Shufang & Kelvin's Birthday, but then chat-chatted... she said she likes strawberry more than mango... But I dunno how to make strawberry cake wor... on the bright side, there is still 3 months till end of October loh...
The above is the Mango Mousse Cake that I made many years ago. Piggy me sleep until there is not enough time. SO I simply rush through making this Cake. Not waiting for the Mousse to solidify. I put the whole thing into a red plastic back and rushes to the NTU chalet.

You know me lah, I'm a not-so-gentle girl... That also partly explains why the cake looks like that. However, although the cake looks ugly enough, the sponge cake inside had received positive comments. :)

Luckily for me, while I was shopping for Konnyaku Stuff at Phoon Huat yesterday night, I saw their hands-on baking workshop and it happened to be teaching White Chocolate & Strawberry Mirror Cake this week. Kiasu me follow-up immediately today and phoned Phoon Huat for registration. Someone withdraw and there's a vacancy!!! Muahaha

Phoon Huat Saves me Yet AGAIN.!!!

The Recipes of the day includes
  1. White Chocolate & Strawberry Mirror Cake
  2. Parmesan Cheese Bread
  3. Parmesan Cheese Cracker
The above is the White Chocolate & Strawberry Mirror Cake. Which will be my Target for Huiling's Birthday *beamz*
This is the one for Parmesan Cheese Bread. Chef Patrick Pang had got some sun dried tomatoes for us to put inside our bread, but I did not put any because doraemon doesn't likes tomatoes.
This is the easier and most fool-proof. Which can be prepared using a toaster oven. Ingredients consist of only 3 ingredients, Parmasan Cheese, Chilli Flakes and Dried Parsley.
See the above, Not bad right? Paid $36 for the Hands-on Workshop and it includes all the ingredients. I took the above 3 items home ;P

I was thinking of joining the hands-on Baking during the last week of July. Any one wants to join me? Recipe includes
  1. TIRAMISU CAKE
  2. RICH CHOCOLATE CAKE

Super Fruitty Konnyaku

Today got the urge to make some Super Fruitty Konnyaku... Why is it super fruitty? It's because I've added in three types of fruits inside. There's Peaches, Strawberries and Kiwi.
I've got Organic Strawberries and they really taste better! Sorta SWEETER to me lah.. Anyway, I'm going to use a small amount, big box of normal strawberries and this box of organic strawberries cost the same. Might as well try something better since I'll be forking out the same amount hor.
The fruits cut up ready to be used.
I've put them into the plastic moulds first, before starting to cook the konnyaku as konnyaku solidifies quite fast
Cooking and Dissolving the Mixture. Based on my experience, I've learned that there is only step in cooking Konnyaku, is to follow the instruction on the package.
I fill in each mould with more than half konnyaku, then used a toothpick to stir, before filling it to the brim.
The finished product, with love.
